The Lisa Antonitti Foundation
What is the Foundation?
The Lisa Antonitti Foundation is dedicated to support people in our community struggling with cancer. The foundation was created in memory of Lisa Diana Antonitti and her spirit during her trials.
Lisa was a dietician, who helped young women with eating disorders. She left behind her daughter, aged 10, mother, sisters and brother, extended family and beloved church members who stood with her to provide support and help during the ensuing difficult years. She was a beautiful, intelligent, caring, gentle, spiritual, determined, strong, loving woman. Her story, a lived example of grace under exceptionally difficult circumstances will support others currently struggling with cancer.
She was breast feeding at the time she felt a lump in her breast, and was subsequently diagnosed with cancer. Despite a shocking, bleak prognosis of imminent death, she was determined to navigate the journey of many difficult treatments to overcome this cancer, live longer to see her child grow up and parent her daughter. Miraculously, her strong faith in the Lord, along with the love of her family gave her the strength she needed to continue fighting breast, liver and brain cancers many years after she was supposed to have left us. Lisa left her family and community with an example of strength in the face of adversity, how to love despite the presence of pain and despair, faith in God’s will even when we don’t understand why, wisdom and patience to impart through experience, and determination to continue despite little chances of success.
Lisa’s daily leadership and demonstrations of these qualities and values despite difficult circumstances are the core of the foundation’s principles and message. Her example allows us to share, celebrate, remember and serve as a compass to many who continue their struggle until cancer can be cured.
What does the Foundation Support?
Monies donated will be applied in direct support of community members struggling with breast cancer today.
